Hey everyone, did you hear about the Lufthansa 787 at Frankfurt? Apparently, the nose gear collapsed while it was parked at the gate. Only crew members were on board, but some of them got hurt, which is really unfortunate. From what I read, the nose of the plane dropped a few yards, and some ground crew had to back away quickly.
I gotta say, it's a bit unsettling to hear about these incidents with such new aircraft. This 787 is only about a year old! I wonder if there were any prior signs of issues with the landing gear or if this was totally unexpected.
I saw there's a video floating around that shows the whole thing happening. Haven't watched it yet, but I'm curious to see what it looks like.
Anyone have any insights into what could cause something like this? Mechanical failure, human error, or just a freak accident? I'd love to hear what you all think. Also, do you think this will have any impact on 787 operations elsewhere? Let me know your thoughts!
