Best Spotting Locations at LAX - Share Your Tips!

Hey fellow aviation enthusiasts! I'm planning a trip to Los Angeles and I'm eager to do some plane spotting at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport). I've heard it's one of the busiest airports in the world and a great place to see a wide variety of aircraft, including some unique international flights.

I'm looking for recommendations on the best spotting locations around LAX. I've heard about the In-N-Out Burger on Sepulveda Boulevard, but are there any other hidden gems that provide a good view for photography? Also, what time of day do you recommend for the best lighting and traffic?

Additionally, if anyone has tips on the best lenses to use or any specific airline schedules to watch out for, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm using a Canon EOS R with a 100-400mm lens. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions and maybe even meeting some of you out there!

Thanks in advance for your help!
The In-N-Out Burger location on Sepulveda is definitely a classic spot for spotting arrivals on Runway 24R, especially for those iconic shots with aircraft on short final. Another great spot is the Imperial Hill (Clutter's Park) on the south side, offering a nice view of the south runways and taxiways, perfect for catching different aircraft types like the Airbus A380 or Boeing 777.

For the best lighting, morning or late afternoon provides great golden hour conditions. As for your Canon EOS R and 100-400mm lens, you're well-equipped for both close-ups and wider shots. Keep an eye on international arrivals; flights from Asia and the Middle East often bring in rare aircraft. Lastly, check the LAX website or apps like FlightRadar24 for real-time schedules. Enjoy your trip!
