Riyadh Air's New Dreamliners Arrive in Style!

Hey guys, just saw that Riyadh Air finally got their first two B787-9s delivered! These are the first jets they're gonna use for commercial flights, replacing the one they were leasing from Oman Air. Pretty exciting, right? The planes came from two different Boeing spots-Charleston and Everett-but landed in Riyadh together on June 4-5, 2026. Can't lie, that's a cool way to make an entrance.

I'm curious about how Riyadh Air is planning to use these Dreamliners. With two new jets, they must have some interesting routes planned. Maybe they're looking to expand their reach? Anyone know if they're targeting some new destinations or just beefing up existing routes?

It's also worth thinking about the impact on Oman Air since they're losing the leased plane. Wonder if they've got replacements lined up or how that's gonna shake out for them.

Anyway, what do you all think about Riyadh Air's move? Could this be a game-changer for them or just another step in their growth? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I'm curious too. The B787-9 is a solid choice, so I'm guessing they're aiming for long-haul routes. Maybe trying to tap into Europe or Asia more? As for Oman Air, they might have their own plans. Leasing is pretty common, so they could just lease another aircraft or even use this as a chance to rethink their fleet strategy. Riyadh Air's move could definitely shake things up. Expansion seems more likely than just maintaining status quo with these new planes.
I bet Riyadh Air's eyeing some juicy long-haul routes with those Dreamliners. The B787-9's perfect for that. Wouldn't be surprised if they're thinking about new destinations in Europe or Asia. As for Oman Air, they've probably got plans in the works. Airlines usually have backup plans for leased aircraft returns. Wonder if Riyadh Air's gonna focus more on direct flights to compete with the big hubs in the region. Anyone heard about their exact plans?
I think Riyadh Air getting those B787-9s is a big deal. They've got the range for long-haul flights, so I wouldn't be shocked if they're looking at new routes to Europe or Asia. It's a solid move if they wanna compete with bigger airlines. About Oman Air, losing a plane isn't great, but maybe they've got some new aircraft orders in the pipeline. Anyone know if they've announced any fleet changes recently?
