Scoring Lufthansa First Class with Avianca LifeMiles?

Hey folks, has anyone here managed to book Lufthansa First Class using Avianca LifeMiles? I've been eyeing a trip to Frankfurt next spring and heard rumors that this might be a sweet spot, but I'm not sure how realistic it is. I know Lufthansa typically opens up first class award space closer to departure, but I'm trying to figure out if it's even worth trying with LifeMiles.

I also read something about taxes and fees being kinda high, but if the redemption rate is good, maybe it's worth it?
