So, I just read that Transavia is adding flights from Maastricht to some cool Mediterranean spots: Ibiza, Zakynthos, Crete, and Rhodes. This is all happening in summer 2027 while Eindhoven Airport is closed for runway renovations. Flights are gonna run from late March to mid-July and you can already book them.
Honestly, I think it's a smart move by Transavia to keep things rolling while Eindhoven is out of action. Maastricht Aachen Airport isn't usually a big hub, but this could bring some extra traffic and attention there. Wonder if this means more people will start considering Maastricht as a viable option for flights even after Eindhoven's back up.
Anyone else think this could lead to more permanent routes out of Maastricht in the future? Or is this just a temporary bump? Also, are any of you planning to catch one of these flights? Would love to hear what you think about Maastricht Airport and if it's worth the detour if you're used to flying out of Eindhoven.
