Frankfurt Airport's Back on Track with Passenger Growth!

Hey everyone, just read that Frankfurt Airport's seeing some growth again! They handled about 5.7 million passengers in May 2026, which is a 2.7% increase from last year. Pretty good sign since things have been a bit up and down recently. I guess the timing of public holidays and school breaks helped, especially with a lot of folks heading to Southern Europe.

Long-haul flights are picking up too. I wonder if this is because people are feeling more comfortable traveling longer distances again. Not sure, but it seems like the demand is there.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether this growth will stick around? Do you think more airports in Europe will start seeing similar trends, or is this just a one-off thing for Frankfurt? Curious to hear what you all think!
I think Frankfurt's growth might stick around, especially with the rebound in long-haul flights. People seem more willing to travel further, maybe because the pandemic feels like a distant memory now. Plus, Southern Europe is always a big draw. Other European airports could follow, but it depends on their connections and how they handle increasing passenger numbers. Schiphol and Heathrow might see similar trends if they can manage capacity issues. Curious to see how summer numbers turn out!
