So, I just read that Aero-Dienst in Germany is ordering a second Challenger 650 for medevac operations. They got their first one planned for mid-2024, and now they're doubling down. I think that's pretty smart considering the Challenger 650 is supposed to have some solid features for medical flights.
Oliver Kosing, their managing director, mentioned that it's got all the advanced intensive care equipment they need and a cabin with stand-up height, which sounds crucial for in-flight care. I mean, can you imagine trying to provide medical care hunched over? Not ideal.
I'm curious, though, how this compares with other aircraft used for medevac purposes. Do you guys think the Challenger 650 is the best choice? Or is it more about what's available now in the market? Also, does anyone know what kind of range these flights usually cover in Europe?
Anyway, seems like a big step for Aero-Dienst. Anyone else got thoughts on this?
