So I just read that the C-5 Galaxy is sticking around until 2050! That's nuts, right? I mean, this thing's been around since the 70s and it's still the go-to for hauling the biggest loads in the military. Seems like nothing else can really match it for carrying those massive pieces of cargo.
It's kinda wild to think some of these airframes will be over 60 years old and still flying. I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it? It does make you wonder about the maintenance and upgrades they must be doing to keep these birds in the air for that long.
I think it's pretty cool that they're keeping the C-5s going, but do you guys think it's a good move? Or should they be looking at developing something new instead? Also, what do you think about the impact this has on the Air Force's future plans? Would be awesome to hear your thoughts!
