So, I just read that United flight UA858 from Shanghai to San Francisco had to make an unexpected stop in Tokyo because of a disruptive passenger. They were flying a Boeing 777-300ER, and it sounds like the trouble started not long after takeoff. Imagine being on that flight with 285 other people and 16 crew members, thinking you're headed to San Francisco, and then getting rerouted to Narita!
I always wonder what causes someone to become disruptive enough to force a diversion like this. Must've been something serious, right? It's kind of wild to think about how the actions of one person can affect so many others, not to mention all the logistics involved in landing at a different airport.
