AirAsia X becoming AirAsia Group - what do you think?

So, I just read that AirAsia X is changing its name to AirAsia Group after a huge shareholder vote. Looks like it passed with a crazy high approval rate-like 99.9959% kinda crazy. That's almost everyone! This seems like it's part of a bigger restructuring effort where AirAsia and AirAsia Aviation Group are merging into AirAsia X. Not really sure how all these changes will pan out for the airline, but it's interesting to see them consolidating like this.

I wonder how this will affect their operations and if it'll make things more streamlined for them. Also, does this mean we'll see any changes in their routes or services? AirAsia's been known for their low-cost model, so maybe it'll just make them more competitive. Or not?

Anyone have thoughts on whether this is more about branding or if there are deeper financial reasons behind it? I'm curious to hear what you all think about these kinds of big corporate moves. It kinda feels like a new chapter for AirAsia, but who knows what it'll actually mean for us folks who just love flying. What do you guys think?
Merging AirAsia X into AirAsia Group might be more about financial restructuring than just branding. They've had their share of financial troubles, especially with the pandemic. Combining forces could cut costs and streamline operations. I wonder if they'll keep the long-haul routes or shift focus to more short-haul, low-cost flights. It could also mean new routes if they're thinking of expanding. I guess we'll see if it makes them more competitive or just adds more complexity. Anyone know if similar mergers worked for other airlines?
