Corporate Jet Captains Catching Up with Airline Salaries!

Started by Wings8367 12 hours ago 1 replies 17 views
Wow, did you guys see this? Corporate jet captains are now making $188,800 a year. That's pretty close to what mainline airline captains are pulling in. It used to be that if you wanted the big bucks, you had to aim for those widebody captain gigs with the major airlines. But now, it seems like business aviation is catching up.

I always thought flying for a big airline was the ultimate goal for pilots looking to earn top dollar. Plus, the prestige of flying those massive aircraft... But now it looks like corporate aviation is a real contender. I guess the lifestyle could be pretty appealing too, with more flexible schedules and flying to unique destinations that airliners don't go to.

Is anyone here in the business aviation world? How's the work-life balance compared to the airlines? And for those in the airlines, would you ever consider switching to corporate jets if the pay keeps going up? It's interesting to see how the industry is changing, especially with the pilot shortage and everything. Curious to hear your thoughts!
