PeakJet's New Deal with ASMALLWORLD - Thoughts?

Started by TheTowerWatcher 1 months ago 4 replies 82 views
So, I just read that PeakJet, this by-the-seat virtual carrier from Switzerland, is teaming up with ASMALLWORLD. Honestly, kinda cool, huh? They're planning to kick things off on August 1st. It sounds like ASMALLWORLD members are getting some sweet deals on PeakJet flights. Gianni Tronza, the big guy over at PeakJet, thinks this partnership makes sense for semi-private aviation. Seems like they're targeting folks who want a bit more than the usual commercial flight experience but aren't ready to charter a whole jet.

I think it's a pretty smart move. Mixing the exclusivity of ASMALLWORLD with PeakJet's approach could attract a niche market. But I'm curious how this whole 'by-the-seat' model will play out. Will it be like flying first class, or something totally different? And how will it affect pricing in the long run - will those discounts for members stay or are they just a launch thing?

Anyone else think this is a sign of where air travel is heading? More choices beyond just economy, business, and first? Let me know what you guys think about this semi-private trend. Is it just a fad or something more permanent?
I'm curious about how the 'by-the-seat' model will actually feel. Like, will it be as exclusive as they make it sound, or is it more like a fancy bus in the sky? I think it could appeal to a lot of people who want something between economy and full-on private jet. But yeah, those member discounts-are they gonna last, or just a way to reel people in at first? If it's successful, I could see other airlines trying something similar.
I'm really intrigued by this 'by-the-seat' model. It could totally change how we think about flying. If it does feel like a more exclusive first class, I can see it attracting frequent travelers who want something special without the full private jet price tag. But yeah, pricing will be key. If those member discounts disappear after the launch, it might lose some appeal. And about the semi-private trend, I think it's more than a fad. People want more personalized travel options, so this could stick around.
I'm curious if this 'by-the-seat' thing will catch on beyond the luxury niche. It sounds cool, but I wonder about the logistics. Like, how do they handle routes and schedules with enough demand? And what happens if they don't fill all the seats? Could be risky. Also, ASMALLWORLD's exclusivity might limit the customer base, right? But hey, if it works, maybe it'll push traditional airlines to rethink their premium offerings. Could be interesting to see where this goes.
