Looks like the Boeing 737 MAX 7 is finally getting close to getting FAA approval, probably by late July 2026. It's been in limbo for a while due to issues with its engine anti-ice system. I guess Boeing will be pretty relieved when this finally gets the green light! But honestly, it seems like Southwest Airlines is the one really banking on this. They've got 314 of these babies on order to replace their older 737-700s. They want to start flying them in early 2027.
It's pretty wild that Southwest passed on the Airbus A220, sticking with Boeing to keep their operations simple. They're aiming to be all-MAX by 2031, which is a bold move. I wonder if sticking to one manufacturer is going to pay off for them in the long run?
What do you guys think about Boeing's chances of hitting that July 2026 timeline? And do you think Southwest made the right call by not going with Airbus? Curious to hear your thoughts!
