A350-1000ULR Touches Down in Oz for Project Sunrise!

Hey guys, just saw that the Airbus A350-1000ULR made its first landing in Australia as part of QANTAS's Project Sunrise testing. Happened in Melbourne on July 24th. This is the plane they're hoping will make those crazy long-haul flights from Sydney to London possible without stops. Pretty wild, right?

Honestly, I'm really curious how this'll change the long-haul game. I mean, non-stop from Australia to Europe or the US is no joke. Wondering how comfy the cabin will be for such long flights. Will they add more legroom or something? And what about fuel efficiency? Heard this model is supposed to be pretty good on that front.

Also, does anyone know if other airlines are looking into something similar? Or is QANTAS leading the charge with these ultra-long flights? I think it's cool they're testing it out, but I guess we'll see how it all pans out. What do you guys think? Excited to see if this becomes a regular thing or not?

I'm really curious about the cabin layout too. Being stuck on a plane for that long, they'd better have some serious comfort options. Maybe they'll have more lie-flat seats or something? As for fuel efficiency, the A350 is supposed to be pretty amazing with that. I read somewhere that Singapore Airlines is also interested in ultra-long-haul routes, so QANTAS might not be alone in this for long. Would be cool if this becomes the norm, but I'm wondering what the ticket prices will look like!

I'm pretty excited about these non-stop flights, but man, I hope they're thinking about cabin comfort. Being on a plane for that long is intense. Heard the A350 is supposed to be more fuel-efficient, which is great for keeping costs down (hopefully). Not sure about other airlines, but I think Singapore Airlines has been doing some pretty long routes too, like Singapore to Newark. Wonder if they'll step up their game as well.
