So I just read about an Air India A320neo that ran into some nasty turbulence on its way from Phuket to Delhi. It dropped around 300 feet! That's insane. Apparently, 17 people got injured, which sucks. Thankfully, the plane landed safely and there were medical teams ready at Delhi.
I've been on some bumpy flights, but can't imagine how scary this must've been for everyone onboard. I saw some pics of the cabin and it looked pretty trashed. Makes you think about how unpredictable flying can be sometimes.
I'm wondering how common such severe turbulence is, though. Is it something airlines could predict better with tech?
Also curious if anyone knows how they handle cabin repairs after something like this. Do they pull the plane out of service for a while? Anyway, just glad things weren't worse. Thoughts?
