airBaltic Hits a 3 Million Passenger Milestone!

Hey everyone, just read that airBaltic has hit a new milestone by carrying three million passengers in the first seven months of 2026. They had 558,000 passengers in July alone, which is a 3% increase from last July. Also, they bumped up their flights to 4,786 this July, which is 7.4% more than the previous year.

It sounds like they're really ramping up operations, but I noticed that the load factor dropped a bit. I guess more flights doesn't always mean fuller planes. Still, it's pretty impressive growth for the airline.

I'm curious how this increase in capacity will affect their future plans. Do you think they're gearing up for even more expansion, or are they just trying to keep up with current demand? Also, anyone know how this compares to other regional airlines in Europe right now? It seems like airBaltic is making some big moves lately. Would love to hear what you all think!
Three million passengers is a big number for airBaltic. But yeah, the drop in load factor is interesting. Maybe they're testing the waters with more flights to see if they can fill them up over time. I've noticed other regional airlines like LOT and SAS have been trying similar expansions. Could be a trend in Europe right now. Wonder if airBaltic's planning to add new routes or just increase frequency on existing ones. Anyone know if they're getting more planes soon?
I think airBaltic's growth is pretty strategic. They seem to be focusing on expanding their network, especially with the A220s they've been adding. The load factor drop might just be a short-term thing as they adjust routes and schedules. As for other regional airlines, I know Ryanair and Wizz Air are also expanding but they're more about low-cost routes. airBaltic's probably trying to find a sweet spot between quality service and expanding reach. Curious to see how their strategy pans out in the long run.
