Airbus's New Business Class Seat Patent - Game Changer?

Hey everyone, just saw that Airbus has filed a patent for a new business class seat that can lie flat. They're saying it'll fit into both widebody and single-aisle jets, which sounds pretty cool. The seat pan and backrest move together with just one motor to switch from sitting to lying down.

I think it's pretty neat that they're trying to bring that lie-flat comfort to more planes, especially the single-aisle jets. Could make those longer routes a lot more comfortable. But I wonder how much space this setup will actually save in the cabin? And will it mean fewer seats overall, or are they managing to keep the capacity up?

Also curious if other airlines will go for it. I mean, lie-flat seats are usually a big selling point for international flights, so maybe we'll see more of those on shorter routes too.

What do you guys think? Is this something you'd be excited to try out, or do you think it's just more of the same?

Lie-flat seats on single-aisle jets? That could really shake things up. I mean, long-haul flights on narrow-body planes could feel way more comfortable. But yeah, the space issue is a big question. If they can keep the same capacity, it'd be a win-win. But if it cuts down on the number of seats, not every airline might be on board. Lie-flat seats are awesome, but if it means more expensive flights, not sure everyone would be on board. Anyone know if other manufacturers are working on similar ideas?
