For a long time, the 767 was the go-to for many cargo airlines because it had that sweet spot of payload, range, and pretty good economics. Plus, they were everywhere, so easy to convert from passenger to freighter.
But now, something's changing. Apparently, the A330 is sneaking in as the new favorite. I guess it makes sense since they're newer and have better fuel efficiency. Plus, airlines are retiring a lot of them from passenger service, so there's a good supply for freighter conversions.
I'm a bit surprised because the 767 seemed like it was going to stick around forever. Do you think the A330 will fully take over, or is there room for both in the cargo world? Also, with all these A330s becoming freighters, what do you think will happen to the older 767s? Are they just gonna fade away, or do they still have some life left in them on secondary routes?
