Retirement Age for Flight Attendants: Is It the Same as Pilots?

So, I just found out that in the US, flight attendants don't have a mandatory retirement age like pilots do. Kinda surprised me, since both jobs are all about keeping us safe in the skies. Pilots have to hang up their wings at 65, but flight attendants can keep working as long as they're able. Makes you wonder why the rules are so different, right?

I guess it makes some sense, since flight attendants don't have the same physical demands as pilots, but they're still on their feet a lot and have to deal with the same long hours and jet lag. Plus, they're the ones who have to keep us calm when things get bumpy!

Does anyone know if other countries have similar rules or if this is just a US thing? And what do you guys think about it? Should there be a retirement age for flight attendants too, or is it cool to let them decide when to retire?

Yeah, it's interesting how the rules differ. In some countries like Japan, there's also no set retirement age for flight attendants. It really comes down to individual airlines and their policies. I think letting flight attendants decide makes sense, as long as they can meet the physical and safety requirements. But I do wonder about the potential for burnout with such a demanding job.
