So, FedEx just had a 777 land at what's now called Frederick W. Smith International Airport in Memphis. Pretty cool nod to the late FedEx founder. The plane's got this awesome vintage livery-half white, half blue, with 'Federal Express' in retro lettering and a red cheat line. It's named after Smith's granddaughter, Rosie. Kind of a neat tribute, right?
About 200 people showed up for the renaming event. Seems like a big deal since FedEx Express is based there and the airport's a major hub for them. Smith passed away in 2025, and it sounds like this is a way to honor his legacy in the logistics world. Looks like the airport's going through some rebranding now, but the IATA code MEM is sticking around.
