Spotting at Dubai (DXB) - Handling the Intense Heat and Glare?

Started by ThomasNEO 3 weeks ago 1 replies 55 views
I recently did some spotting at Dubai International (DXB) and wow, the heat and glare are something else! I was there around midday, and it was blazing hot with a crazy amount of sun reflecting off the tarmac and planes. I struggled a bit with my photos looking washed out and lacking contrast.

I'm using a Canon EOS 90D with a 100-400mm lens. I tried using a polarizing filter, which helped a bit, but I'm not sure if I was using it right. My settings were around ISO 100, f/8, and 1/1000s, but I still feel like I could improve.

Any tips on handling these conditions? Should I try different settings or maybe shoot at a different time of day? Curious if anyone else has experience spotting in such extreme light conditions at DXB or similar airports.
