So, I just read about the B-36 Peacemaker and its crazy engine setup. I mean, whoa, this thing had six piston engines with propellers pushing from the back AND four jet engines?! That's a beast of a setup. I guess they added the jets to help with take-offs and getting this giant bird up in the sky quicker. Makes sense, given its size. But still, even with all that power, it wasn't enough to keep the B-36 in the game long-term.
Seems like a mix of old and new tech with the piston engines and jets, which is kinda fascinating. I read that the jets were supposed to help with high-speed dashes too. Anyone know if that actually worked out in practice? Also, why do you think it still wasn't enough to save the B-36? Was it just too big and complicated, or were there other issues?
