I've been trying to figure out which card to use for my everyday expenses to rack up points, and I'm stuck between the Amex Gold and the Chase Sapphire Preferred. I know the Amex Gold offers 4x points on dining and groceries, which seems awesome since that's where I spend a lot. But Chase Sapphire Preferred has the 2x points on dining and travel, plus some cool travel protections.
I'm mostly looking to use the points for flights, maybe some hotel stays here and there. I don't travel every week but do a few big trips a year. Anyone have thoughts on which one might be better for someone like me? Or maybe there's another card I should be considering? Don't want to end up with a card that doesn't fit my spending habits. What do you guys think?
