Hey folks, just saw that Air Canada decided to stick with widebody planes for their Toronto-Heathrow flights instead of using the A321XLR. They were gonna try the XLR from August to October 2026, but now they're going with the Boeing 777 and 787s instead. I think it makes sense since the Toronto-London route is pretty busy and they need the extra seats and cargo space.
The A321XLR is more for routes that don't need as much capacity, right? It seems like Air Canada is gonna use it on routes like Toronto-Manchester and Toronto-Copenhagen starting in 2026. I guess those routes fit the XLR's purpose better with less demand.
I wonder if this means we'll see more of the XLR on year-round services to smaller markets instead of big busy routes like Heathrow. What do you guys think?
