So, did anyone catch what Airlink just did? They flew Embraer-190 and Embraer-195 jets REAL low over a packed rugby stadium in Cape Town. Sounds like the crowd loved it, but not everyone is thrilled. Now the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is looking into it because of safety concerns.
I mean, it's pretty cool to see planes up close like that, but I get why it might freak some people out. Safety should always come first, right? But then again, wasn't this planned? Do you think Airlink cleared this with the authorities beforehand or was it a bit too spontaneous?
And where do we draw the line between an awesome display and something that's potentially dangerous? I'm sure other airlines have done similar stunts, but I guess it depends on how close is too close. Would you want to see more of these flybys, or are they just not worth the risk?
Let me know what you guys think!
