So, Malm Airport had a bit of a hiccup yesterday evening. A small cargo plane, a Fairchild SA227-BC Metro, had some trouble landing and ended up sitting on the runway for a while. Because of this, flights were put on hold, but they got everything sorted out and were back to normal just before 8 PM. Swedavia confirmed that there were no injuries or damage to the airport, which is always good news.
I wonder what kind of landing issues the plane experienced to end up stuck there. Anyone know if this model has a history of similar incidents? Also, it's impressive how quickly they managed to clear the runway and resume operations-must have a solid team over there.
It's a reminder of how even small incidents can disrupt operations, but it's cool seeing how efficiently airports handle them. Did anyone here have their flights affected by this, or know more about how such situations are managed?
