HondaJet Echelon Delayed: Thoughts?

Started by Cruise810 • 1 months ago • 1 replies • 93 views
So, I just read that Honda Aircraft is pushing back the first flight of their HA-480 HondaJet Echelon by two years. It was supposed to take off in 2026, but now we're looking at 2028. And yeah, that means deliveries are delayed too - now they're saying 2031. That's quite a wait!

I get that timelines shift, especially with all the tech and safety stuff that goes into these things, but two years feels like a long time, right? I wonder what's causing the delay. They mentioned something about tier-one suppliers, so maybe it's supply chain issues? Or could it be something else entirely, like design changes?

Honestly, I was pretty excited about the Echelon. It's supposed to be a stretched, larger-cabin version of the HA-420 HondaJet, which sounds pretty cool. More space is always nice, especially for longer flights.

What do you guys think? Is this a big hit for Honda Aircraft, or just par for the course in the aviation world? And do you think these delays might impact Honda's reputation or future sales? Curious to hear your thoughts.
