Cathay Pacific's Lie-Flat Beds for Shorter Flights - Good Move or Nah?

So, I just read that Cathay Pacific is introducing lie-flat beds for flights around five hours. They're known for their awesome long-haul flights, but these new seats are apparently for regional routes. That's pretty cool, but I'm wondering what this means for their premium economy. Are they ditching it altogether?

I think it's great that they're trying to make short flights more comfy. Who doesn't want a lie-flat bed, right? But I could see how this might not sit well with everyone if it means premium economy disappears. Some folks really like having that middle ground between economy and business class.

Does anyone know if this is going to be a permanent change or just a trial? Also, what do you guys think about lie-flat beds on shorter flights? Worth it, or would you rather have a cheaper ticket with regular seating? Interested to hear your thoughts!
I get why they'd add lie-flat beds for those flights. Makes sense for business travelers who want to nap or work comfortably. But yeah, it could mess with premium economy. If they ditch it, some folks might be annoyed. Not everyone wants to pay for business class, and premium economy is a good compromise. Wonder if this will drive prices up for those routes though. If it does, I'd probably stick to regular seating for a short flight. Anyone know if they're keeping premium economy on other routes?
I think lie-flat beds on short flights are a bit overkill, but I get the appeal for business travelers. The real question is, what's happening to the pricing? If the lie-flat option jacks up the ticket prices, it might not be worth it for everyone. And yeah, losing premium economy would suck for those who like that balance. I wonder if Cathay will keep both options or make premium economy a rare find. Anyone know if other airlines have tried something similar?
