Southwest Expands Big with New Hawaii Routes!

Hey folks, just saw that Southwest Airlines is adding six new nonstop routes to Hawaii! Pretty exciting stuff if you ask me. They're really doubling down on the Hawaii market. Most of these new routes are from California, which makes sense given the demand.

I think Southwest is trying to grab a bigger slice of the vacation crowd heading to the Aloha State. With these new routes, they might give other airlines a run for their money on these popular routes. Plus, we all know how much Southwest's low fares can shake things up.

I'm curious about how this expansion might affect the competition. Are we going to see some fare wars? And do you think Southwest's service can match up with other airlines on these longer routes?

Also, for those who have flown Southwest to Hawaii before, how was your experience compared to other airlines? Let me know your thoughts!
I flew Southwest to Hawaii last year from Oakland, and it was a solid experience. The crew was friendly, as usual, and the snacks were decent for a longer flight. But yeah, the lack of seat assignments can be a bit of a headache when you're dealing with a full flight. As for fare wars, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some price drops. Hawaiian Airlines might feel the heat, but they've got that island vibe down, which is hard to beat. What do you think about Southwest's in-flight entertainment options on these longer routes? I've heard mixed reviews.
Southwest expanding to Hawaii is a smart move, especially with their lower fares. But yeah, I wonder about the service on longer flights. No frills can be a bit rough on a 5+ hour trip if you're used to more amenities. I usually fly Hawaiian for their service and vibe, but I'm tempted to try Southwest for the savings. Anyone know if they're planning to upgrade any in-flight services for these longer routes?
I think it's a bold move by Southwest to expand like this. Competition on Hawaii routes is already pretty stiff. They've got the fares, but I'm not sure how their service will hold up on such long flights. I flew Southwest to Hawaii once, and it was fine for the price, but the no-seat-assignment thing isn't for everyone on a long haul. Curious if they'll offer anything extra to make those flights more comfortable. Anyone else think they'll tweak their in-flight service for these routes?
