USAF Scrambling for B-52 & B-1 Parts - Daily Meetings Now!

Hey folks, just read something interesting about the USAF and their old bombers. So, the Air Force is having daily meetings just to find spare parts for their B-52s and B-1s. These planes are like 60 years old! They're calling it the North Star Readiness Campaign. Seems like they're working with different commands and agencies to keep these birds flying.

I mean, it's kind of wild to think about the logistics needed for these old machines. I guess it makes sense since they want to keep as many of them combat-ready as possible. But it makes me wonder how much longer they can realistically keep these bombers in the air. Are there any modern replacements in the works?

Also, do you guys think it's worth putting all this effort into keeping these old bombers operational, or should they be focusing more on developing new tech? I get the historical significance, but it seems like quite the challenge. Curious to hear what you all think!
It's nuts how long these bombers have been around. I read something about the B-21 Raider being the next-gen bomber, but that's still in development. Meanwhile, the B-52s are getting engine upgrades and new avionics, so it looks like they're planning to keep them around for a while. I get the cost-saving angle, but at some point, you gotta wonder if it's more efficient to just build new stuff. Anyone know how costs compare between maintaining old vs. developing new tech?
It's crazy how they keep these old warhorses going. I mean, the B-52s are older than my dad! I think the Air Force is in a tough spot. They can't just scrap them without a replacement ready, and new tech takes forever to develop and field. The B-21 Raider sounds promising, but who knows when that'll be fully operational. Maybe keeping a mix of old and new tech is the safest bet for now. Anyone know when the B-21 is expected to roll out?
