Southwest & United Say No Thanks to New 737 MAX With Software Glitch

Hey everyone, just came across some news about Southwest and United not accepting new 737 MAX jets from Boeing. Apparently, there's this software issue with the flight-management computer that's causing some trouble. It's related to automated vertical navigation during a missed-approach scenario - sounds like a pretty specific but important problem.

The FAA is on it, reviewing the issue. Meanwhile, Boeing's got its hands full waiting on certification for the 737-10 and starting deliveries for the 737-7. It's kind of a rough patch for them, huh? I mean, these airlines just aren't willing to take on planes with unresolved software issues. Can't say I blame them.

I think it's smart for Southwest and United to hold off until Boeing sorts this out. Safety's gotta be the priority, right? But I wonder how long it'll take for Boeing to fix this issue and get those planes out the door. Do you guys think this will delay other deliveries or certifications for Boeing? Also, how do you think this could affect Southwest and United's operations if they were counting on these new planes? Curious to hear your thoughts!
