Spotting at Madrid-Barajas (MAD) - Best Lenses for Taxiway Shots?

Started by GaryDEN2 • 4 weeks ago • 1 replies • 67 views
Hey folks, I've been doing some plane spotting at Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) recently and am trying to get some decent shots of planes on the taxiways. The airport's layout gives some unique angles, but I'm struggling a bit with the lens choice. I'm currently using a Canon 70-200mm f/4, and it's decent, but I feel like I could use something with a bit more reach.

Has anyone got recommendations for a lens that works well for this kind of scenario? I'm considering the Canon 100-400mm, but not sure if it's overkill or just right. Also curious if anyone's tried the Sigma or Tamron equivalents.

It'd be awesome to hear what focal lengths work best for you guys at MAD and if you've got any sneaky tips for getting those sharp, crisp shots on the taxiways. Thanks!
