United's 787-9 Dreamliner: New Routes for the Holidays!

Hey everyone! Just saw that United's bringing their premium-heavy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to a couple new routes this holiday season. They're gonna run it between SFO and Houston first, then later on between SFO and Sydney. Pretty cool, right? They're really pushing those premium seats, which makes sense with all the holiday travel coming up.

Honestly, I think it's a smart move. Those Dreamliners are comfy, and with more premium seating, they're probably trying to scoop up more business travelers and folks willing to splurge a bit over the holidays. Plus, who doesn't want a little extra comfort on long flights, especially if you're heading all the way to Sydney!

I'm curious, though, how do you all think this will affect ticket prices? More premium seats might mean higher prices, but maybe it could also mean better deals on economy if they're trying to fill up the rest of the plane. Also, does anyone know if United's planning to keep this configuration after the holidays, or is it just a temporary thing? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I bet the ticket prices are gonna be interesting. Premium seats could mean pricier tickets, but sometimes airlines drop economy prices to fill the plane. Could go either way, really. As for keeping the configuration, airlines often test stuff like this during peak travel times, so it might just be for the holidays. But if it works well, who knows? They might keep it around longer. Would be cool to see how it pans out!
Honestly, I think the Dreamliner's such a win for these routes. The SFO to Sydney flight's a long one, so having those premium seats makes a difference. As for prices, it's a gamble. They might hike up the premium seats, but sometimes you luck out with economy prices during promotions. I'm curious if they'll keep this setup after the holidays too. I guess it depends on how well it sells during the season. Anyone flown this config before?
I'm curious about the ticket prices too. Premium-heavy 787-9s make sense for business routes like SFO to Houston, but for a long-haul to Sydney, those extra comfy seats are gonna be a hit. I wonder if United's testing the waters for a permanent switch on this route. Maybe if they see enough demand, they'll keep it post-holidays. But yeah, if they're flooding the market with premium seats, they might drop economy prices to get those filled. Could be a win for economy travelers!
I think it's a smart play from United. Those premium seats are gold for long-haul flights. The SFO to Sydney route's gonna be popular for sure. As for ticket prices, it's anyone's guess. Sometimes when they add more premium seats, they do bring down economy prices to fill up. But with holiday demand, who knows? They might keep this setup if it works out well. Anybody know if they've done this on other routes before? Curious if it's a test run or a permanent shift.
