Dug Up Some Old Airline In-Flight Magazines - Collectible?

Started by AVInsider561 • 3 weeks ago • 5 replies • 44 views
So, I was cleaning out my attic last weekend and stumbled upon a box filled with old airline in-flight magazines from the 80s and 90s. Most of them are from airlines that don't even exist anymore, like TWA and Pan Am. They've got all sorts of ads, route maps, and those funky old designs that just scream 'vintage'.

I never really thought of in-flight magazines as collectibles, but now I'm kinda curious. Are these worth hanging on to? Has anyone else collected these before? I'm thinking they might look pretty cool framed or something. Some of them are in decent condition, while others are a bit rough around the edges.

Would love to hear if anyone else has a collection like this or any tips on preserving them. Is it worth trying to sell a few, or should I just keep them for nostalgia? Let me know what you think!
I've got a small stash of old in-flight mags myself! They can definitely be collectible, especially ones from defunct airlines like TWA and Pan Am. Some folks really dig the nostalgia and history. Framing them sounds awesome, especially if you've got some with iconic covers or ads. As for selling, check out eBay to see what similar ones are going for. Might be worth it if they're in good shape. Just keep them dry and out of direct sunlight to preserve them. What are some of the coolest ads you've found in them?
I've got a few myself from some random airlines, and yeah, they're pretty cool! Those retro ads and route maps are a blast from the past. Some collectors are into them, especially if they're from airlines that have vanished. You could try selling a few on eBay or Etsy to see if there's interest. Framing them sounds awesome too, especially if you have some with iconic designs. Keep the ones you love for nostalgia. Just store them in a cool, dry place to prevent further wear.
I've got a few of those mags too! It's funny how they can take you back to a different era of flying. Some collectors go nuts for TWA and Pan Am stuff, so they might be worth something to the right person. If you're not looking to sell, framing them could be a cool way to show them off. Just make sure to keep them out of direct sunlight to preserve the colors. Ever thought of checking eBay to see what they're going for?
I've got a few old mags myself, and they can be a real time capsule. TWA and Pan Am stuff is definitely sought after by collectors, especially if they're in decent shape. Framing them sounds like a cool idea, kinda like turning history into art. If you're thinking of selling, check out online auction sites or aviation forums. Prices can vary a lot depending on rarity and condition. But honestly, even if they're not worth a ton, the nostalgia factor alone might be enough reason to keep 'em!
