Malaysia Airlines Making Moves with Airbus MRO Unit Buy!

So, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), which owns Malaysia Airlines, is buying Sepang Aircraft Engineering from Airbus. This deal's supposed to wrap up by 2027, depending on some usual approvals and stuff. MAG thinks this is gonna boost their MAB Engineering unit because SAE brings in A320 maintenance skills, a paint hangar, and component repair know-how.

Honestly, this seems like a smart move for Malaysia Airlines. Having their own MRO capabilities can save them money in the long run and maybe even bring in revenue if they offer services to other airlines. Plus, with the A320 being such a popular aircraft, having in-house expertise is definitely a plus.

What do you guys think? Is this a good strategy for Malaysia Airlines, or could it be risky buying an MRO unit? And how do you think this might affect other regional players in the MRO space?
