Google and Spirit teaming up for data protection - what's the deal?

Hey everyone, just saw something about Google and Spirit Airlines working together on protecting customer data. Can't access the full article since it's behind a paywall, but it seems like they're taking steps to secure travelers' personal info.

Honestly, it's about time airlines step up their game in this area. With so much of our data floating around, it feels like we should be getting more protection. I mean, who wants their info just out there, right?

I wonder what kind of measures they're planning to implement? Are they just tightening up existing systems, or is this about some new tech they're bringing in? And why Google? I guess they're a tech giant, but curious how this partnership came about.

Anyone else think more airlines should be doing this? Or is this just a PR move to make us feel better about data safety? Would love to hear what you guys think about airlines and data privacy.

Also, if anyone has a subscription to Commercial Aviation News and can share more details, that'd be awesome!
I'm with you on the need for better data protection from airlines. With Google in the mix, they're probably leveraging some serious cloud security tech. But yeah, why Spirit specifically? Maybe it's about cost or Spirit wanting to improve its image. Other airlines should definitely follow suit, but I can't help but wonder if this is more about PR. I mean, real data protection improvements take time and transparency, not just announcements. Anyone else think Google might end up partnering with more airlines down the line?
Yeah, about time airlines focus on data security. With Google involved, they're probably looking at some serious cloud infrastructure and analytics to protect info. Maybe Spirit's trying to revamp its image by leading on this front, who knows? I do hope it's more than just a PR stunt. Airlines have so much data on us, and breaches can be a nightmare. Wonder if other airlines will follow suit or if they're already doing something similar behind the scenes.
