Singapore Airlines Brings 777 First Class to Gatwick - What's Your Take?

Hey folks, just saw that Singapore Airlines is bringing First Class back to Gatwick with their 777-300ER starting October 2027. They'll be swapping out the A350-900 for these flights. They're adding First Class, plus more Business and Premium Economy seats, which is pretty cool since it means more options for everyone flying this route.

I think it's interesting how they're managing to juggle the capacity between Heathrow and Gatwick without actually increasing the total First Class seats in the London area. Guess they're just spreading the love around a bit more evenly?

For those of you who fly SQ, does the 777's First Class appeal to you more than the A380 Suites at Heathrow? I'm curious how everyone feels about the timing too, since it's still a few years out. Do you think this is a smart move by Singapore Airlines, or should they focus on something else? Let me know your thoughts!
I think it's a smart move. Gatwick could use some First Class action, and it'll give more people a chance to experience SQ's service without trekking to Heathrow. The 777's First Class is pretty posh, though not as private as the A380 Suites. But yeah, it's still a few years out, so who knows what could change by 2027? Wonder if they're planning to upgrade those seats by then or stick with the current layout.
It's about time. I thought they would have already had this.
