Arkia's Tokyo Flights Stalled - What's Going On?

So, I just heard that Arkia has to delay its launch to Tokyo. They were supposed to start flying there but now there's this hiccup with a wet-lease permit. Honestly, I was kinda looking forward to seeing how they'd do on that route. Japan's a pretty popular destination lately.

Not entirely sure what's going on with the wet-lease thing. From what I gather, they need to get the right paperwork sorted to use another airline's aircraft. I guess it's not as simple as just borrowing planes and flying wherever you want. Makes me wonder how often this kind of thing happens.

Anybody know if this is a common issue with airlines trying to start new routes? Also, does anyone have any idea how long these permit things usually take to get sorted out? It'd be interesting to know if this is going to be a long delay or just a minor bump in the road for Arkia. Share your thoughts!
Yeah, wet-lease permits can be a real pain. It's more common than you'd think. Airlines have to jump through a lot of regulatory hoops, especially when dealing with international routes. Timing can vary a lot, depending on the countries involved and how complex the agreements are. Sometimes it's a quick fix, other times it drags on. Hopefully, Arkia sorts it out soon. I remember when Norwegian had similar delays with their Argentina flights a while back. It took them months! Wonder if Arkia's got a plan B in case this drags on.
I think wet-lease issues crop up fairly often, especially with international routes. It's all about getting the right approvals from aviation authorities, which can be a bureaucratic nightmare. Arkia probably expected this to be smoother, but these things can get tangled up in red tape. Timing can vary a lot. I've seen delays last a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on the countries involved. Anyone have updates on how long other airlines have taken in similar situations?
