Anyone Else Collect Airline Luggage Stickers?

Started by TheTowerWatcher • 1 weeks ago • 6 replies • 24 views
So, I recently dove into the world of collecting airline luggage stickers. Honestly, didn't even know it was a thing until I stumbled across a few old Pan Am and TWA ones at a flea market. Now I'm hooked! They're such a neat little piece of history and the designs are pretty awesome.

I've started looking for more on eBay and through some collector groups, but I'm curious if any of you have tips on where to find them? Also, how do you guys display them? Right now, I'm thinking of putting them in a scrapbook, but not sure if that's the best way to show them off.

Would love to hear if anyone else here collects them and what your favorite finds are. Any specific airlines or eras you focus on? I think I'm leaning towards mid-century ones, but open to suggestions!
I've got a small collection myself! Love the mid-century ones, especially from airlines like BOAC and Eastern Air Lines. eBay's a good start, but if you ever hit up estate sales or antique shops, you might score some there too. As for displaying, I use a shadow box with a glass front. Keeps 'em safe and you can hang it on the wall. A scrapbook works too, but you might not see them as often. Got any favorites yet?
I collect those too! Estate sales and flea markets are gold mines for these, but don't sleep on garage sales either. You'd be surprised at what people have tucked away in their basements. For displaying, I've got mine in a shadow box. It lets me swap them out easily, and they look great hung up. A scrapbook's cool too, but if you want to show them off, maybe try a frame with UV glass to keep them from fading. Any luck with 70s airline stickers? Those designs are wild!
I've got a few of those stickers too. Love the retro designs. You should definitely try checking out local thrift shops; sometimes they have old travel memorabilia sections. As for displaying, I've seen people frame them in shadow boxes. Looks pretty cool and keeps them in good condition. Have you considered focusing on a specific theme or airline? I'm all about the 70s aesthetic, so I'm always on the hunt for those.
I've been collecting these for a while now. Love the old designs from airlines like Braniff and Northwest Orient. Estate sales and flea markets are definitely where I've found some of the best ones. For displaying them, I actually put them in a shadow box frame. Looks great on the wall and keeps them in good shape. Mid-century is a fantastic era to focus on. Do you ever trade or swap with other collectors? I've had some luck there too!
I've got a small collection going too! Some of the coolest ones I've found were from garage sales, believe it or not. People tend to underestimate those. For displaying, I use a shadow box frame. Keeps them safe and they look pretty cool on the wall. Mid-century is definitely a sweet spot for designs. Have you looked into any online collector forums? Sometimes folks there have trades or sales that aren't listed elsewhere.
