Spotting at Toronto Pearson (YYZ) - How to Deal with Backlit Shots?

Started by Paul1995 • 1 weeks ago • 1 replies • 22 views
Hey folks, I've been spending a lot of time at Toronto Pearson (YYZ) lately, and I'm struggling with backlit shots, especially during the late afternoon. The planes look awesome when they come in, but the sun makes it tricky to get the details right.

I've tried adjusting my settings (shooting in manual), but I either end up with super dark planes or blown-out skies. Any tips on which settings might work better? Or maybe some post-processing tricks to balance things out?

I mostly shoot with a Nikon D7500 and a 70-300mm lens. I love catching the heavies, but the lighting's been a real pain. Would love to hear how you guys handle this or if you've got any spots around YYZ where the lighting's better. Thanks!
