So I just read that Air New Zealand is bringing these Skynests to their flights from Auckland to New York starting in November. They're kind of like mini bunk beds for economy class. Pretty wild, right? You can book a session for about $495, which isn't cheap, but way less than a business class seat.
I remember when Air New Zealand introduced their Skycouch, where you could turn a row into a bed by flipping up the armrests. This feels like the next level of that idea. I think it's pretty cool they're trying to make long flights more comfortable for those of us in the back of the plane.
I'm curious though, do you think people will go for it at that price? I mean, $495 for four hours of sleep is kinda steep, but maybe worth it for a really long flight? And what about other airlines? Think they'll follow suit with their own versions?
Honestly, I'm all for anything that makes economy more bearable. What do you guys think?
