Archer's Bringing eVTOL Air Taxis to Texas - Thoughts?

So, I just read that Archer Aviation is planning to set up three air taxi networks in Texas. They're gonna use these Midnight eVTOL aircraft to connect spots like Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Sounds like they're aiming to link airports, business districts, and maybe even some coastal areas. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Now, they haven't given a launch date yet, and they're still waiting on FAA type certification for the Midnight. I'm curious how long that'll take. Seems like a lot of these new eVTOL projects are stuck in this certification phase.

In Dallas, they're looking at connecting places like DFW, Dallas Love Field, and a bunch of other airports around the metroplex. I think this could really change how folks get around, especially if it cuts down on traffic. Imagine skipping all that highway mess!

But I'm also wondering, is this tech really gonna take off (pun intended) as a practical option for most people? And how do y'all think it'll impact the traditional taxi and rideshare services? Can't wait to see how it plays out!
I think it's gonna be a while before we see these really taking off, especially with the FAA stuff dragging on. The certification process is no joke. But yeah, avoiding traffic sounds amazing. I wonder about the cost too-will it be like ridesharing or more like a luxury service? And what happens if there's bad weather? Texas storms can be brutal, and I'm curious how these eVTOLs will handle that.
