Philippine Airlines flying A350-1000 to San Fran daily soon!

So I just read that Philippine Airlines is gonna start flying their Airbus A350-1000 daily between Manila and San Francisco from November 1, 2026. That's pretty cool! I mean, the A350-1000 is one of those planes that you just have to experience. It's got 382 seats which includes 42 in Business class. Nice, huh?

I think it's great that they're using this aircraft for a long-haul route like this. The A350 is known for its fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. With the West Coast being such a popular destination, it makes sense to up the game with a newer aircraft.

But I wonder how this will affect their overall fleet strategy. Is this a sign that they're planning to phase out older planes? Plus, how do you guys think this will compare to other airlines flying similar routes?

Anyone planning to fly this route once it starts? Would love to hear some thoughts on whether the A350-1000 makes a noticeable difference in your travel experience.
I think it's about time they updated the fleet for that route. The A350-1000 should be a nice upgrade over their older aircraft. More fuel-efficient, quieter, and better cabin pressure. I remember the last time I flew with PAL on their older planes, it felt cramped, so 42 in Business sounds like a sweet deal. Not sure how this will stack up against other airlines, but if the service improves too, it could be a game-changer. Anyone know if they're planning to upgrade the in-flight entertainment as well?
Curious to see how this plays out with their fleet. The A350 is definitely a step up in terms of comfort and efficiency, but I wonder what'll happen with their older planes. Maybe they'll phase out some of their older A340s? Also, with other airlines flying similar routes, it'd be interesting to see if PAL will offer competitive pricing or focus more on the premium experience. Anyone know if they're keeping the same cabin layout as their other A350s?
