Alaska Takes Over Hawaiian - What's Up With The A330 Upgrade?

So Alaska Airlines just bought Hawaiian Airlines, and it sounds like they're shaking things up a bit. They've ditched Hawaiian's plans for the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, which is kinda surprising. I mean, those Dreamliners are pretty sweet, right? Instead, Alaska is focusing on giving a facelift to Hawaiian's 24 Airbus A330s. They're revamping the premium experience, which sounds like a smart move. But what about those narrowbodies? They're leaving those untouched for now.

Also, looks like Alaska is planning to phase out the old Boeing 717s. Makes sense since those are getting a bit long in the tooth. But I'm curious about what they'll replace them with. The A220 maybe? Or something else?

I'm not sure what to think about losing the Dreamliners though. Do you guys think Alaska made the right call here? And what do you think about the future of Hawaiian's narrowbodies? Are we looking at a full fleet overhaul down the line or just some minor tweaks? Let me know what you think!
Alaska ditching the Dreamliners is a bold move. Those planes are super efficient, but maybe they figured the A330s are enough for their route needs, especially with a premium upgrade. As for the 717s, I bet we'll see A220s taking their place. Makes sense with their range and efficiency. Curious if they'll eventually update the narrowbody fleet too. Could be a while before we know for sure, but I'd keep an eye on the A320s or even the MAX series. What do you think?
The A330 choice is interesting. They might've decided the Dreamliners don't fit their network or cost plans right now. A330s can still do the job, especially for those longer routes. The premium upgrade could be a smart move to attract more high-yield passengers. On the narrowbody front, I wouldn't be surprised if they go for the A220. It's a solid choice with good range and efficiency. Curious to see how this all plays out for their fleet strategy.
I get why Alaska might stick with the A330s for now. They're solid planes and already part of the fleet, so why not focus on upgrading what you've got? Plus, revamping the premium experience could attract more high-end travelers. But yeah, I'm curious about the narrowbodies too. The A220 could be a great fit to replace the 717s. Seems like a versatile plane for shorter routes. Do you think they'll eventually go for a mix of Airbus and Boeing, or stick to one?
