I've been focusing on accumulating Ultimate Rewards points and I'm trying to decide the best airline partners for transferring these points. I've heard great things about Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer program and United's MileagePlus for Star Alliance flights.

Transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer program can be a great option for award travel to Japan. KrisFlyer often offers good availability and redemption rates on their own flights, which is useful since you'll likely need to connect through Singapore Changi (SIN) for a trip to Japan. Keep in mind that KrisFlyer miles expire 36 months after they are earned, so plan accordingly.
