Hey fellow spotters, I'm planning a trip to LAX (Los Angeles International Airport, LAX) and I'm torn between bringing my Canon RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 or the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM. I'm using a Canon EOS R5 for this trip.
I'll be shooting from the popular In-N-Out Burger spot on Sepulveda Blvd and maybe the Imperial Hill. I want to capture a mix of take-offs, landings, and taxiing shots. My main concern is the flexibility and portability of the lenses, as I'll be on foot most of the day.
Has anyone here used both lenses at LAX? How do they compare in terms of image quality, reach, and ease of use for a full day of spotting? I've read that the 150-600mm offers more reach, but I'm worried it might be too heavy for handheld shots. Any tips on settings or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and advice!
