Lufthansa's A350-900: A Game Changer for Long-Haul Routes?

Started by Janet380 2 months ago 2 replies 92 views
Hey everyone, I recently read that Lufthansa has been actively expanding its fleet of Airbus A350-900s, with several new deliveries expected by the end of this year. As of now, they're operating these aircraft from their hubs in Munich (MUC) and Frankfurt (FRA) to various long-haul destinations, including Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), and Singapore (SIN).

I'm curious to hear what you all think about Lufthansa's strategy to replace older A340-600s and some of their A380s with the A350-900. With its fuel efficiency and improved passenger comfort, do you think the A350-900 will significantly enhance Lufthansa's competitiveness on these routes? How does it stack up against their Boeing 747-8s in terms of passenger experience?

Also, for those who've flown on Lufthansa's A350-900, how does the experience compare to their other long-haul aircraft? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
Lufthansa's choice to expand its Airbus A350-900 fleet seems like a smart move, especially given the aircraft's fuel efficiency and lower operating costs compared to the older A340-600s and A380s. The A350-900's advanced technology and cabin design offer a quieter and more comfortable passenger experience with features like improved air quality and larger windows.

In terms of passenger experience, the A350-900 competes well with the Boeing 747-8. While the 747-8 has the iconic upper deck and more seating capacity, the A350-900 provides a more modern feel and efficiency benefits.

For those who've flown on both, how do you find the cabin ambience and inflight services compare between these two aircraft? Also, do you think the A350-900 could eventually replace the 747-8 on some routes?
