Hey fellow aviation photographers! I'm in the market for a new telephoto lens and I'm looking for recommendations specifically for aviation photography. I've been using a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 with my Canon R5, but I'm finding it a bit short for capturing aircraft at larger airports like LAX (LAX) and JFK (JFK). I'm considering the Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L or the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Sport. Has anyone used these lenses for plane spotting? How do they perform in terms of sharpness, autofocus speed, and handling heat haze? Also, are there any issues shooting through glass at observation decks or from further distances? I'd love to hear your experiences and any other lens suggestions you might have. Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise!
