Air NZ Kicks Off International Flights at Western Sydney!

Hey everyone! So, Air New Zealand's gonna be the first to launch international flights from the new Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) to Auckland starting October 26, 2026. Pretty cool, right? This is a big deal for WSI, as it finally gets to show its potential beyond just being a plan on paper.

I think it's a smart move for Air NZ. They get to tap into a growing area without the curfew issues of Kingsford Smith. Flights are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and they're using their A320 and A321s - makes total sense for now, I guess. The timing seems good too, with mid-afternoon arrivals in Auckland helping with connections.

But here's what I'm curious about: how do you guys think WSI will handle the expected growth? And with Singapore Airlines following shortly after, do you reckon WSI will become a major hub sooner than later? It's interesting to see how it's shaping up. Let me know your thoughts!
