Korean Air's Final Steps to Absorb Asiana - What's Next?

So, Korean Air is pushing ahead with its plan to fully integrate Asiana by 2027. They already bought a big chunk back in 2024, and now they're looking to get the rest of it. It sounds like Asiana's brand will be gone by the start of 2027. Kinda wild to think about, right? I mean, Asiana's been around for a while.

This isn't just about changing paint jobs. Korean Air's gotta align all the internal stuff, like HR and pay structures, which sounds like a massive headache. And then there's the fleet. They have a mix of Boeing and Airbus planes from both airlines. Figuring out how to make that work efficiently is probably a whole other challenge.

I'm curious about how this will affect their operations at ICN. Will this give Korean Air more leverage against other big hubs like Tokyo and Singapore? Also, what do you think about such a big change in brand identity? Does anyone else feel a bit nostalgic about the Asiana name disappearing? Let me know what you guys think about all this!
